Bruce’s supports the Children’s Cancer Recovery Foundation. Cancer Recovery Foundation International (CRFI) is a group of global affiliated charities, founded by „The Wellness Authority‟ Greg Anderson in 1984. Cancer Recovery Foundation’s mission is to help all people prevent and survive cancer through “integrated cancer care” which Anderson pioneered. The Foundation is currently established in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France and Germany. The organization is recipient of the “5-Star Best in America Award.”

FeedMore is the umbrella organization of the Central Virginia Food Bank, Meals on Wheels Serving Central Virginia, and the Community Kitchen. In 2008, these charitable organizations merged to fulfill a shared purpose to fight hunger and enhance lives in our community. The unique feeding programs offered by the Food Bank and Meals on Wheels remain consistent under the merged entity. The FeedMore collaboration has produced a comprehensive approach to hunger relief in Central Virginia. Working together, we provide a variety of feeding programs targeted to the populations in our region that are most vulnerable to hunger: children, families, and seniors. By joining forces as FeedMore, we can more efficiently and effectively serve people in need and fill the food gaps that exist across our community.

 

Bruce provides back up in food prep for Chef Maxwell at FeedMore Kids Cafe. The Kids Cafe program is one of the nation’s largest meal service programs, conceived by Feeding America—the nation’s food bank. The program is a partnership with established afterschool and summer programs that provide safe places for children to meet role models and to participate in activities designed to enhance their educational, physical, and social development.

 Jeff Gordon at Bruce’s in Williamsburg: Bruce’s hosted a question answer session, giving the public an opportunity to hear it directly from 4-time Nascar Cup winner, Jeff Gordon. Activities included music from Johnny St.Clair, Weston Daniels and Tommy Wood, food and an auction of race memorabilia to benefit Make-A-Wish.

 Bruce’s sponsors the Nile program at the Science Museum’s IMAX Dome & Planetarium. Join the first expedition to successfully navigate the entire length of the Nile.
